Back in the saddle...

I must admit, I've been lagging in my photography. Life got hairy and the weather got gross and I got jealous of everyone elses ability and I put my camera down and hardly picked it up. But I'm ready to be back!!!!! I know my biggest blocker is insperation. So I'm going to try my hardest to find my insperation, take my photo(s) and let ya'll in on the process. Who knows maybe I'll end up being someone elses insperation along the way!

So today my pic is my new puppy Lincoln! He's so cute and I can not help but take a bazillion pics of him. Here's my fav so far tho...ok my two favs lol!!

Mr. Adyn

Me, David and the kids took a little road trip to our most favorite corner of the pacific northwest this weekend...SEATTLE!! My cousin had asked if I could come snap a few pics of her son's 1st birthday. Adyn is one of THE cutest little boys I've EVER seen and that makes him a very easy subject to want to take pictures of. In the end it was a great time seeing some family that we don't get to see too often and a wonderful excuse to head to our favorite city!

My first boudoir session

This was my first attempt at boudoir photography and I loved it!!! I knew I would but I think I might just be hooked!
When I got it in my head that I wanted to try it I knew I'd have to find someone w/ rediculous self confidence and Alisha was THE perfect model! She's BEAUTIFUL, SOOOO very photgenic and was up for ANYTHING! Really the dream model! It was so much fun and helpful practice for me as well. Here are just a few of my favorites from the day!

Apple pickin w/ Lulu and photoshoot w/ my cousins

Lulu and I went apple picking yesterday at our local orchard...to me that is pure joy!! Sharing a beautiful, almost fall, morning w/ my little girl is priceless and getting some yummy apples too, tops it all off!!! I love being there and getting my fruit and veggies local...it makes me feel good and wholesome. And I'm sure all you other "local" readers know EXACTLY what I mean. It oozes country and simplicity to me and makes me feel, if even for a moment, like life is simple and easy. :) I just love it!! I could probably post EVERY pic of her from the trip...lol...but you get the point! :)

This morning was beautiful weather and PERFECT for a little photo shoot w/ my cousins and their kiddos!! I've put out a plead (ya it's been bumped up from a call lol) for help from anyone willing to let me practice on them. I want to be good...great, and worthy of charging people money. So here are just a few shots from our morning! Thanks for looking :D and have a fantastic evening!!

As most of you know (two or three of my 4 readers lol) I was asked to come and take some pictures at a wedding this weekend. I'm not going to lie, I was nervous. Only because I really want to take good pictures no matter if I'm doing it for money or not. And I felt a little pressure to take some pics that were great if I ever want peoople to actually want ME to take pics of them. I know, I know...I've only had my camera for 2 months and as of now I'm 100% self taught...not that I know alot yet but what I do actually know is all from trial and error. And it's safe for me to say that this experience, shooting pictures for a wedding, was FULL of trials and errors!!! I'm VERY interested in taking pics at weddings on a perfessional level someday and I've read ALOT about what it can be like being a wedding photographer so I thought I was prepared to have some crazy moments...moments! Not a whole crazy day lol!! The wedding was short and sweet! The bride was beautiful and made an easy subject, when she was smiling. But between squinting into the sun and being a little overwhelmed it was hard to snap a candid moment when she didn't look totally po'd...she wasn't of course but looks can be decieving! So the sun was one obstical I was prepared for but what I wasn't prepared for was the difficult task of positioning a group of people into "better light" when everyone else was also trying to take pics at the same time. And since I wasn't a hired photographer I didn't feel the right and/or obligation to over ride everyone else trying to get the same shot. So needless to say another obstacle that I wasn't prepared for was EVERYONE else and having to work around them. I didn't have an outline of the day (and I don't think the bride or groom did either lol) so another thing that was a little difficult was trying to be in all the right places at all the right times so as to not miss a special moment or a great shot. At one point the bride had requested a break from pics and so I went off kind of doing my own thing getting some shots of other people and things going on...only to look over my shoulder not 10 minutes later to see the bride and groom about to cut the cake. AHHHHHH...WAIT!!! I got there and got some shots...phew!! All in all it was a good day and a great learning expeience and something I look forward to getting better at in the future!! Here are a few of my favorite shots from the day!!

The sun was so bright so this is the only picture of her walking down the aisle where she's smiling...but I think it's a good pic!
Praying

I was so glad I caught this tender moment between the two of them...she was a little overwhelmed and he was making sure she was ok. It was really sweet!
This little girl was so happy to have a camera pointed her direction lol! Here she's showing me her pretty dress :)

WHAT!?!? OMG...panic!!!

So I've been asked to take pics at my brother-in-laws sister's (you follow that lol?) wedding on sunday. Granted I was only thought of because of my fancy new camera and not so much because I'm known for taking FABULOUS pics...(sidenote...that will come soon enough tho :D) She couldn't hire a photographer and aside from the pics everyone esle was going to be snapping w/ their point and shoot cameras she had no plan to have any other pictures taken. That's where I come in I guess. My sister mentioned my new camera and my little, itty-bitty OBSESSION w/ taking pics and ta da...I'm now taking pics at a wedding!! THE most important day of their lives together (untill they have babies that is) and I'm SOOOOO veery nervous. Because even though she doesn't have high expectations of me, I have them of myself! If my name is going to be attached to something I want it to be good. I am my own worst critic and I'm SUPER DUPER hard on myself. Flawlessly hard on myself...sigh. I just want them to be happy and I guess there is no other time but now to challenge myself and learn. Luckily it's a pretty laid back wedding...in a park in the afternoon...which is a WHOLE challange in itself with the afternoon sunlight. Anyways, I'm rambling in my state of nervousness...it's just what I do lol...so wish me luck!!!!

Yesterday I was playing w/ the natural light in my kitchen. Natural light photography is what I'm really interested in being good at...I want to be able to use the available, FREE and beautiful light that is naturally around us to take stunning pics right from the camera!!! So anyhoo, this is my peace cup and it could only be MORE perfect if it were yellow...but it's not...I found it fitting for today since I could use a dose of PEACE to mellow out these nerves running rampant through my veins! AHHHHHH!!!!
